Epic Training Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When will Epic Training be held at Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC)?

Epic Training will be held from August 24 through October 16, 2020.

How will Epic Training be offered?

All Epic training instructors will be administering virtual Skype sessions which trainees will join remotely. Users who do not have the ability to work from home or in a personal work area should register for classes offered in dedicated CCHC classroom training space. Seating will be limited so those who need these spots should register early.

What is virtual training?

Trainers will utilize Skype for Business to deliver and present training content to staff. Training will include a combination of lecture, demonstration and practice exercises.

How will staff attend virtual training?

Staff with an individually assigned computer, cubicle, office or work area can attend training from there. Staff who are already able to work remotely can attend training from their remote working location. Staff who do not have the ability to work remotely and do not have an assigned work area can register for and attend virtual training in designated Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) classroom spaces. All instructors will be delivering content virtually, even when CCHC classroom spaces are utilized.

Will Epic Training be compensated?

Training time is working time and will be compensated accordingly. Employees should follow up with their managers regarding any specific policies and procedures regarding how training time should be documented and reported for their role and department.

How do I know what training is available?

All managers and staff can review the Epic Training Course Catalog [pdf]. This document provides a description of all available curriculum, any prerequisites and estimated course lengths organized by roles.

My staff didn’t receive any assigned training and I expect them to have access to Epic.

I was assigned training, but I’m interested in additional training. Can I sign up?

Yes! Staff can always register for and attend additional training sessions in HealthStream as space and time permits.

Are there additional Epic e-learning opportunities?

All Cape Cod Healthcare staff can sign up for a UserWeb account and access Epic’s full library of content. Instructions are available for creating a UserWeb account [pdf].

I’m a Super User for my department. What do I need to do?

Super Users should plan to attend at least two classes for their job role, taking advantage of earlier offerings, if possible. Super Users will also participate in additional trainings focusing on how to help their peers before and after go-live.
